English

Introduction
The present study aimed to examine the impact of interpersonal skills and organizational commitment on knowledge absorption capacity in the Southeast Water Production and Transmission Operation Company.

Method
This research is applied in nature and was designed as a cross-sectional descriptive-survey study. The statistical population included 527 employees of the Southeast Water Production and Transmission Operation Company affiliated with the Ministry of Energy, and data were collected through standardized questionnaires.

Results
The structural equation modeling results indicated that interpersonal skills have a positive and significant effect on knowledge absorption with a path coefficient of 0.11 and directly affect knowledge sharing with a coefficient of 0.368. Organizational commitment also contributes to increasing knowledge sharing with a coefficient of 0.642; however, its direct effect on knowledge absorption (coefficient 0.094) is relatively weak and mainly operates through the mediating role of knowledge sharing (indirect path coefficient of 0.117). Knowledge sharing, as a mediating variable, plays a key role in enhancing knowledge absorption capacity with a path coefficient of 0.452. The model’s coefficient of determination (R²) for knowledge absorption was 0.914, indicating a very high explanatory power. Model fit indices, including χ²/df=1.89, CFI=0.934, TLI=0.904, and RMSEA=0.041, demonstrate the model’s good validity.

Discussion
These findings highlight the importance of developing communication skills, increasing organizational commitment, and strengthening a culture of knowledge sharing to enhance knowledge absorption capacity in organizations.
